A Misson Is Born
In the summer of 2008, a large group of families and professionals held a meeting to address the strong concern with the limited quality special educational choices currently offered in Charlotte, North Carolina. Each parent told a personal story in heartbreaking detail of how they had tried various educational options for their child, from public school to special needs private education to home school and how each had failed. All said that his/her child just “didn’t quite fit.”
These parents are desperately seeking an alternative educational experience that is truly individualized where the teacher teaches as the child learns; an environment that offers a personalized approach that is nurturing, safe and academically challenging. They desire qualified, mission-driven educators who seek to fully understand and appreciate the uniqueness of the child, who are willing to think outside of the box and create a personalized school experience in which their child can thrive academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.
The Mission of The Epiphany School of Charlotte was born on that day.
